JERSEY FAQ’S 2026-2027 SEASON

Key Things to Note

Registration opens: June 15, 2026 for all teams except 8U Jersey cost: $150, including shipping

Jersey cost details: The $150 cost is for jerseys only. Game socks can be purchased through Tom at The Penalty Box Pro Shop located outside of Rink 3 at Cornerstone Community Center.

Lead time: Approximately 6 weeks from order date; orders will be placed in waves

Before registering: Complete USA Hockey registration first; the USA Hockey membership number is required in Crossbar Updated May 2026

When does registration open?

Registration for the 2026-27 season is planned to open June 15 for 10U–14U.

Do we need anything before we can register?

Yes — families must register with USA Hockey first, as the USA Hockey membership number is required during GBAYHA registration.

What if someone registers in the wrong program (Girls vs. Coed)?

GBAYHA can move a player to the correct program. Note: if the chosen number is already taken in that program, the number may need to be adjusted. Contact the registrar ASAP if you registered in the wrong program

What if we are Out-of-District and will be attending the tryout and not sure if we will need a jersey yet?

You should register as tryout only and jersey will not be ordered until you are rostered on a team. We will have loaner jersey’s if necessary that players can use until their jersey comes in.

How do jersey numbers work?

Jersey numbers are tied to birth year:

·      Even birth year → choose an even number

·      Odd birth year → choose an odd number

·      Numbers are selected during registration and locked once chosen

Which jersey numbers are NOT available?

The following numbers are unavailable:

●     55–64 — reserved for GBAYHA use for loaner jerseys.

●     69,99 — unavailable

How will we select jersey numbers?

Number selection is built into the Crossbar registration flow as the final step. Once selected, the number is locked so no one else can take it.

Can jersey numbers be changed mid-season?

Generally, no. Changes are only allowed if required for compliance (e.g., duplicate numbers, league rules, or association decisions) and must be approved by GBAYHA.

Can jersey numbers be changed between seasons?

Yes, if the number is not already assigned within your player's birth year. A new jersey must be purchased at your expense. Contact jersey management committee to request a new number and verify it is available.

Will there be a jersey fitting / try-on opportunity?

Yes — samples are expected and a jersey fitting will be scheduled as soon as possible so families can confirm sizing. Parents/guardians are responsible for selecting the correct jersey size for their skater this season & will be selected during registration.

How much do the new jerseys cost?

$150, including shipping, if jerseys need to be ordered outside of regular ordering, there may be an additional shipping cost for small orders.

How long does it take to receive jerseys once ordered?

Lead time is approximately 6 weeks, but can fluctuate, this is why ordering now is important to ensure we have jerseys prior to season start.

What if my player registers late or needs a replacement mid-season?

Jerseys can still be ordered (no minimum), but single or family-only orders may be responsible for additional shipping costs.

Can my player wear a GBAYHA reversible jersey purchased from the pro shop in games?

Not for 10U and up, they may be used for practice or pick-up only.

Which age groups are included in the new jersey ordering process?

The new jersey ordering process is for 10U–14U players. 8u process is not changing at this time.

Who pays for replacement jerseys?

Parents/guardians are responsible for all replacement costs, including shipping or rush fees, unless the issue is due to a verified defect or vendor/association error.

When do I need to replace a jersey?

A jersey should be replaced if it is:

●     Lost or stolen

●     Damaged beyond normal wear (e.g., major tears, unreadable, severe staining)

●     Improperly fitted in a way that affects safe play or equipment use

●     An older or unapproved version not allowed for games

●     Conflicting with an assigned number (e.g., team change, play-up situation, or transfer to a girls team)

How long will this new design be used?

GBAYHA intends on using these jerseys for a period of 2 years. At that time most skaters likely will need a new jersey anyway. Jerseys could be redesigned at that time and all skaters regardless of if there is a need or not would be required to purchase the new design.

What qualifies as "damaged beyond normal wear"?

Examples include: major rips or tears, missing panels, broken or unusable closures/laces, illegible name or number, or any issue that makes the jersey unsafe or non-compliant. GBAYHA reserves the right to enforce a jersey replacement request if jersey is found to be unusable.

What should I do if a jersey needs to be replaced?

Notify your Team Manager as soon as possible. The Team Manager will work with the Jersey Coordinator to initiate the order. You will need to provide:

●     Player name

●     Team

●     Jersey number

●     Jersey size

The parent/guardian is responsible for placing and paying for the order through the approved GBAYHA vendor.

What if the jersey has an error or defect?

GBAYHA will help coordinate a correction if there is a manufacturer defect or a printing error (incorrect name, number, or size). Issues must be reported within 7 days of receiving the jersey or before the first game, whichever comes first.

My child outgrew their jersey — what should I do?

Notify your Team Manager and order a new jersey in the correct size through the approved process. Parents/guardians are responsible for the cost.

Can my player use a jersey from a sibling or friend?

This may be allowed only if:

●     The jersey is the current approved GBAYHA design

●     The number is available and not already assigned

●     Name is complaint with the skaters last name

Can I add patches, captain letters, or custom items?

Only with prior GBAYHA approval and applied using the approved method. Unauthorized modifications are not allowed during games.

What happens if my player does not have a compliant jersey?

A loaner jersey may be provided if available. If not, the player may be held out of the game to maintain compliance.
